Banacado Sorbet


This is seriously good in so many ways! There are differing versions floating around Pinterest, but here’s MINE, which of course I think is superb.


  • 1 ripe Florida avocado (these are larger than a California avocado with milder flavor and lighter color)
  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1/2 can Coconut Milk (about 7 oz.)
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • Dash of sea salt


Blend all ingredients in a blender or food processor until smooth. From this point, you can make these into popsicles or simply put in a freezer container and freeze. If you have an ice cream maker, put the blended ingredients in the refrigerator to chill for a few hours, then pour in the ice cream maker, following the manufacturer’s directions for traditional ice cream or sorbet.


If sorbet is frozen, bring out of the freezer 15-20 minutes before eating to soften. I made this without any sweetener and it was amazing, but if you feel the need to sweeten, go right ahead. I imagine this would be crazy good with chocolate sauce drizzled on top.
